College/University Program

HRP of Central PA hosts The Official SHRM Learning System College/University Program™ for those preparing for PHR ®/SPHR ® certification. This program, sponsored by Villanova University, consists of at least 30 contact hours of course instruction, with individuals attending a three-hour session one evening a week for thirteen weeks. In addition to the classroom experience, each participant receives his or her own set of the SHRM Learning System as well as special end-of-module tests and a final exam created especially for the college/university channel.

This is the most widely used resource in preparing for the PHR ® and SPHR ® exams! Over 30,000 HR professionals prepare for the PHR ®/SPHR ® exam with the SHRM Learning System™ each year.

The materials reflect the most comprehensive and current HRCI content outline of the HR body of knowledge. The System provides over 1,300 test questions that reflect the content in the HRCI body of knowledge in the same format as the exams. The Learning System software, which is provided with the enrollment of the course, contains over 500 test questions, 50 application exercises, electronic flashcards and an electronic glossary. There is also a FREE web cast with renowned HR experts.

76% of participants in the college/university program passed the PHR exam compared to only 65% of those who used other study methods.

The course will be facilitated by HRP of Central PA's own Kim Nash. Kim has been facilitating the Villanova sponsored course since 2000. Kim is a tremendous resource in facilitating this course for our chapter.

The next class will begin September 2, 2008 and will run for 13 weeks.
